Music with Guitar

These are the completed works in my corpus featuring guitar.

Several more are in development, including the fourth Partita; a trio for clarinet, guitar, and cello (Dit de l’alerion); a sonata for solo guitar; and a work for two guitars.

The Partitas

The Partitas will be four in number upon their completion. Each will have 5 moments, and be of roughly the same length. In addition to the entailed hermeneutics of the genre-based title, each carries relationships back to historical precedents, implied in their subtitles, but, I think, less overtly manifest in the mood and affect than in my works specifically exploring Gleichzeitigkeit der Ungleichzeitigkeit.

The Courtier. A work evocative of Renaissance lute writing, and (titularly and affetively) Castiglione’s Il Cortegiano. Live capture of Dan Lippel at University of Nebraska, Kearney, 13 April 2019.
